How do you spend your days? What are your passions? What is your occupation?

Currently, I am working as a summer educator for Saltwater Classroom and prior I worked as a teacher for a daycare which sparked my passion for education. In my free time, I enjoy running, spending time at the beach and chatting about seafood supply chains.

Explain your connection to the ocean. How does it influence your life?

I have always loved the ocean and its ability to link people from all over. While working on a tour boat in midcoast Maine, I had the opportunity to connect guests from across the country to this vast natural resource. Witnessing their excitement and desire to learn more about the space ultimately, inspired me to want to pursue an education in Ocean Food Systems and future career that would allow me to continue to connect people to our oceans.

The mission of Saltwater Classroom is to bring together young students, as well as learners of all ages, through an innovative approach to ocean education. How does this apply to your experience?

What stands out to me about ocean education is its ability to instill a passion and love for the oceans that influences not only the future of ocean conservation but also the future of vital ocean industries and resources, such as commercial fisheries, transportation, tourism and recreation.

What are your earliest ocean memories?

My earliest ocean memories come from visiting my grandparents on Cape Cod.

If you had to pick one thing, what is your favorite aspect of the ocean? We know, it's a broad question.

My favorite aspect of the ocean is that it still holds many mysteries due to how much of it has yet to be explored.

Is there a dream ocean destination on your list? Where would you travel to next?

I would love to see and swim around a kelp forest!
